Marshall Health Network has expanded its team of bariatric surgeons by welcoming Dr. Jenalee A. Corsello, a fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon. In addition to her expertise in bariatrics, Dr. Corsello specializes in minimally invasive surgery, foregut surgery, and general surgery.

Dr. Corsello joins fellow bariatric surgeons Dr. D. Blaine Nease and Dr. Semeret T. Munie, who are associate professors of surgery at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. The trio will see patients at Marshall Surgery and the Cabell Huntington Hospital (CHH) Center for Surgical Weight Control.

Recently, CHH was recognized for the 11th time as a Center of Excellence for bariatric surgery by the Clinical Sciences Institute of Optum®, signifying that it has met rigorous standards and criteria in providing high-quality care for patients undergoing weight loss surgery.

Dr. Corsello earned her medical degree from Ross University in Miramar, Florida, completed her general surgery residency at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine—where she served as chief resident—and pursued a bariatric surgery fellowship at the Advent Health Bariatric and Metabolic Institute in Tampa, Florida.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Corsello serves as an assistant professor of surgery at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine where her research focuses on improving best practices and identifying new approaches within the field of bariatrics to better serve patients and ensure they achieve optimal health and well-being.

Bariatric surgery is recognized as an effective solution to reduce long-term health effects associated with obesity.

For more information about procedure options or to determine candidacy for bariatric surgery, visit marshallhealth.org/bariatrics or call 304-399-4129.
