Marshall University is set to host its Student Research and Creativity Symposium on Wednesday and Thursday, April 2-3. The event will showcase the work of both undergraduate and graduate students, providing them with an opportunity to present their research and creative achievements to the public, free of charge.
The symposium's opening presentation will take place at 2:30 p.m. on April 2 at the Brad D. Smith Center for Business and Innovation's Encova Auditorium. Dr. Moshe Szyf, a retired professor of pharmacology and therapeutics from McGill University, will be the guest speaker. Szyf will discuss "How does the social environment talk to our genes," focusing on the field of epigenetics and the impact of external factors on gene expression.

Over 100 students will display their research work during the event. Faculty mentors and academic professionals will attend to provide feedback to students about their projects.
