Marshall University's flight school has announced the introduction of two new financial aid options for students. Sallie Mae, a company known for providing private student loans nationwide, has approved loan options for non-degree-seeking students. This development facilitates individuals pursuing pilot training without needing a traditional degree, appealing to those seeking career changes or micro-credentials in pilot licensing.
Additionally, Marshall's professional pilot program is now part of the Academic Common Market through the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB). This inclusion allows students from 16 states, where a flight training degree is unavailable, to enroll in Marshall's program and benefit from in-state tuition rates.
"Marshall is pleased that we can now offer these important options to our students," stated Nancy Ritter, chief aviation operations officer at Marshall. "The expanded access helps lower the financial barriers for students all around, offering them an affordable and high-quality aviation education."
These new financial aid options are available immediately and apply to Marshall’s Bill Noe Flight School in Charleston, West Virginia, as well as satellite locations in Wheeling, Lewisburg, and Martinsburg.
