Staff members from U.S. Representative Carol Miller's office visited Marshall University on December 12. The meeting took place at the university's Huntington campus, where officials discussed strategies to enhance education and economic development in West Virginia.

The collaboration highlights a mutual dedication to fostering growth and opportunities within the state. During the visit, attendees participated in a graduation ceremony at the Marshall Advanced Manufacturing Center (MAMC). Sixteen individuals were recognized for earning associate degrees and academic certificates, alongside nearly 160 industry credentials. The center is pivotal in preparing students for careers in manufacturing, contributing to the state's economic health.

The congressional team also received updates on several initiatives. Tricia Ball, director of entrepreneurship, provided insights into the Marshall Innovation District. This $250 million mixed-use project will feature the Brad D. Smith Center for Business and Innovation, along with facilities such as the Institute of Cyber Security and new headquarters for MAMC.

Additionally, an overview was given of the WV Grant Resource Centers' work. These centers assist communities and applicants in writing competitive grants and have helped secure over $41 million in funding for projects across all 55 counties of West Virginia.
