Marshall University is set to host its annual Herd Holiday event on December 10. The celebration, which brings together the university community and local residents, will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Memorial Student Center on the Huntington campus.

Mallory Jarrell, director of events and brand management, described Herd Holiday as "more than a holiday gathering—it’s a cherished tradition that unites the Marshall University family and surrounding community to embrace the spirit of the season." She added, "Herd Holiday is such a special time for the Marshall family to come together, celebrate the season and create lasting memories. We look forward to sharing the joy of the holidays with everyone who attends."

The event will commence with a tree-lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m., led by student body president Brea Belville and vice president Connor Waller. Entertainment will follow, featuring performances by students from Marshall University’s Early Education STEAM Center and True Impact Performing Arts.

Attendees can enjoy seasonal treats such as cookies, s’mores, and hot chocolate inside the student center. From 6 to 8 p.m., there will be opportunities for holiday crafts and activities including making ornaments, bookmarks, reindeer bait, gift tags, filling stockings, and writing letters to Santa.

Additionally, photo opportunities with Santa-Marco and various festive locations throughout the event will be available.
