Marshall University is set to host its annual Countdown to Commencement event for students preparing for winter graduation. The event will take place on October 22 and 23, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the Don Morris Room of the Memorial Student Center. A virtual session is also scheduled for noon on October 24, specifically inviting students graduating from online programs.
The Countdown to Commencement is designed to assist Summer and December 2024 graduates with various tasks in preparation for the university's Winter Commencement ceremony, which will occur on December 14 at Marshall Health Network Arena.
Student Affairs organizes this yearly event to streamline the graduation process by offering numerous services in one location. Alumni Relations will provide information about post-graduation support, while the College of Education and Professional Development will offer insights into graduate education options.
Graduate Studies representatives will be available to discuss master's, doctoral, and certificate programs offered by Marshall University. The Office of Intercultural Affairs encourages intercultural graduates to gather information about cultural graduations and stoles.
International students can consult with Global Education officials regarding their F-1 and J-1 status and immigration regulations. Jostens will assist with class rings and personalized announcements, offering a chance to win a diploma frame through a drawing.
GradImages photographers will capture cap and gown portraits without any sitting fee or purchase obligation. Prospective business graduates can learn about master’s degree programs from the Lewis College of Business.

The Marshall University Foundation invites students to sign the Class of 2024 banner, while the Office of Student Financial Assistance provides guidance on exit counseling and loan repayment. The Office of the Bursar offers consultations regarding student accounts.
Graduates can share their post-graduation plans with the Office of Career Education, which offers job-related support including resume assistance and LinkedIn guidance. Finally, the Office of the Registrar helps verify graduation details and distribute recognition cords for military service or ROTC participants.
