The City of Huntington is proud to announce that it is one of the winners of the National League of Cities 2022 Capstone Challenge Series.
The Capstone Challenge Series is an annual program that matches private sector partners with member cities on short-term, pro-bono projects to benefit their municipalities.
Huntington city officials partnered with Pallet Shelter to develop and implement a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) to handle active mental health crises for people experiencing homelessness and/or substance use disorder. The CIT, which consists of Huntington Police officers and mental health professionals, conducted a soft launch last month.
