The Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce and Marshall University’s Collective 37 have formalized their partnership with an official signing event. The ceremony took place on March 7 in the Drinko Library atrium at Marshall University. This collaboration provides students in graphic design, advertising, and public relations with practical experience while offering strategic communications support to local businesses in Cabell and Wayne counties.
Since late 2024, the two organizations have collaborated through the Chamber’s small business scholarship program, supported by Huntington Bank. Collective 37 has led efforts in advertising, public relations, and graphic design to assist businesses in building their brands.
Megan Archer, President and CEO of the Chamber, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are thrilled to partner with Collective 37, a talented group of student professionals who are bringing fresh ideas and creative energy to our local business community.” She added that this collaboration benefits both small businesses and students by providing valuable marketing support and hands-on experience.
Brooke Olivarri, co-director and co-founder of Collective 37, highlighted the importance of creativity among emerging professionals: “This collaboration is an incredible opportunity for our students to apply fresh, strategic ideas—while supporting the growth of local businesses.” She emphasized the potential for meaningful work that bridges student innovation with community success.
Local businesses such as Blue Kangaroo Packoutz have benefited from this partnership. Jesse Lewis, owner-operator of Blue Kangaroo Packoutz, noted: “Working with Collective 37 has been a great addition to our marketing strategy. They are energetic and bring fresh ideas to the table.”
The signing event marked a milestone in recognizing the achievements accomplished by Collective 37 students so far.
