Marshall University is extending an invitation to the community for its Lifelong Learning Program's holiday open house. The event is scheduled for Friday, December 13, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and will take place in the lobby of the Brad D. Smith Center for Business and Innovation located at 1415 4th Ave. in Huntington.
The Lifelong Learning Program (LLP) aims to offer educational opportunities to individuals of all ages without the financial burden typically associated with college tuition. Members of the program can benefit from various activities, including a monthly Tuesday Talks series, trips to local attractions, access to Marshall University's library services, and volunteer opportunities.
Elizabeth Appell Sheets, the program coordinator, expressed her enthusiasm for leading the initiative. "Spearheading Marshall’s Lifelong Learning Program has been the highlight of my career," she stated. "Our program provides an opportunity for our Huntington community members to experience diverse and timely topic discussions courtesy of our university faculty, local experts and regional specialists."
Attendees can enjoy holiday music and refreshments during the open house event. It is free and accessible to everyone, with media representatives also welcome.
