Marshall Health welcomes new specialists to enhance pediatric care

Madison S. Anderson, M.D., and Alexis M. Jones, FNP-BC, have joined the pediatric care team at Marshall Health, a member of the Marshall Health Network in Huntington, W.Va.

Anderson specializes in pediatric hospital medicine, focusing on caring for hospitalized children in a family-centered environment. She is part of the team at Hoops Family Children’s Hospital within Cabell Huntington Hospital. There, she provides medical coverage for admitted patients on the pediatric floor as well as newborns in the nursery and neonatal therapeutic unit.

Anderson received her medical degree from West Virginia University in Morgantown and completed her pediatric residency and pediatric hospital medicine fellowship at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. In addition to her clinical role, Anderson serves as an assistant professor of pediatrics at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and leads the pediatric residency program as its director. Her clinical and research interests include quality improvement measures in pediatric patient care and medical education. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Jones has joined the gastroenterology team at Marshall Pediatrics with over nine years of experience as a nurse practitioner. Previously, she worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Hoops Family Children’s Hospital before becoming a nurse practitioner. Jones was part of the endocrinology team at Marshall Health from 2017 until her return to pediatric medicine in 2023.

As a nurse practitioner with Marshall Pediatrics, Jones evaluates and treats patients with gastroenterology-related diseases and complications, primarily focusing on abdominal pain, constipation, and physical growth issues. Her extensive experience brings expanded care and increased access to advanced gastroenterology services for pediatric patients.
