Billingy to be inducted into Conference USA Hall of Fame

Kelly-Anne Billingy, one of the most decorated student-athletes in Marshall Athletics history, was announced Monday as part of the Conference USA Class of 2022 Hall of Fame. The five-person class is made up of three student-athletes and two coaches.

Billingy, a native of Trinidad who graduated from Marshall in 2007, led the Thundering Herd volleyball program to unprecedented success. By the time she graduated, she was Marshall's all-time leader in kills (2,481), kills per set (5.15), No. 2 all-time in services aces (192) and hitting percentage (.338). She wa a four-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American and wa a four-time winner of the AVCA All-Midwest Region honors, too. She also garnered AVCA All-Midwest Region Freshman of the Year in 2004 and National Player of the Week in 2005.

"It is our honor to recognize this remarkable group for induction as our fourth Hall of Fame class," said Judy MacLeod, Conference USA Commissioner. "Each of our 2022 inductees has made their mark on their respective sports and the history of our league. We are appreciative of their contributions and are proud to share their stories, as well as celebrate their legacy to our conference."

Billingy was Conference USA's Player of the Year three times (2005, '06 and '07). She was named to the C-USA all-tournament team three times, including tournament MVP in 2005. In 2004, Billingy was the 2004 Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year in 2004, a year before Marshall transitioned to C-USA. She then helped lead the Herd to the regular season and tournament title in 2005 and another regular season championship in 2007.
