Marshall University hosts 'Virtuoso Violin' concert with faculty musicians

The Marshall University School of Music is set to present "Virtuoso Violin," a concert featuring performances by faculty members Dr. Alex Malaimare on the violin and Dr. Johan Botes on the piano. The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 25, at Smith Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.

Attendees will experience a range of compositions from notable composers including Fritz Kreisler, Béla Bartók, Manuel Ponce, Claude Debussy, John Williams, and Niccolò Paganini.

Dr. Alex Malaimare, an assistant professor of violin and viola at Marshall University, stated, “The concert showcases the versatility of the violin, featuring works spanning two centuries that will appeal to both violinists and students interested in pursuing this instrument.”

The event is sponsored by the School of Music within the College of Arts and Media at Marshall University. All are invited to attend.
