Last week, Hurricane Helene significantly impacted Appalachian State University and Georgia Southern University. Both institutions are facing severe challenges as faculty, staff, and students have lost homes and transportation.

Marshall University has stepped forward to assist these communities in various ways. Marshall Aviation has delivered over 800 personal hygiene kits to those affected. Additionally, members of the administration, staff, and faculty have contributed personal donations to relief funds. The 2024 Marshall University Homecoming Court is also directing its philanthropic efforts towards supporting the recovery initiatives.

In collaboration with Appalachian State University, Marshall Athletics is assisting with travel arrangements, equipment transport needs, and practice accommodations for the upcoming homecoming game against App State.

For those interested in contributing further support to these universities, personal donations can be made through the following links: Appalachian State University Disaster Relief Recovery Fund and Georgia Southern Student Emergency Fund.
