Marshall University has announced the appointment of Tricia Ball as the new executive director of its Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (iCenter). Previously, Ball was the president and CEO of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Ball is known for her commitment to economic development and entrepreneurship. She expressed her enthusiasm for the role, stating, "It is an honor to be chosen as the Executive Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and to be entrusted to carry on the impactful work of Dr. Ben Eng, the center’s founder and a great friend and mentor of mine." She added, "I’m excited to return to Marshall at such an exciting time for the university, city, and region."
Originally from southwestern Pennsylvania, Ball is a first-generation college graduate who learned about entrepreneurship from her parents. She holds degrees from West Virginia University and the University of Florida.
Ben Eng, interim dean of the Lewis College of Business, previously led the iCenter. He commented on Ball's appointment: “We are thrilled to welcome Tricia Ball back to the iCenter as its Executive Director. Tricia’s return is a true homecoming."
Ball lives with her husband Christopher and their two sons.
