Marshall University School of Theatre & Dance will present its Spring Dance Concert at 7:30 p.m. on March 28 and at 2 p.m. on March 29 at the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center, according to a March 19 announcement. The event will feature works by faculty, students, and guest artists.

The concert continues the tradition started with last fall’s Works-In-Progress Showcase, offering audiences a look into the creative process behind developing choreographic works. Shelby Nelson, adjunct professor of dance at Marshall University, said, “This concert gives our students the opportunity to continue developing their original compositions. They are guided through the development of their choreographic works from impetus to stage.”

Nelson also said, “This spring concert is truly an act of collaboration. Through this performance, we are able to share a wide variety of movement practices happening around campus. From classwork to creative research, contributions from professionals working in Huntington, and the season choreography of MU Dance Team, we hope to offer audiences a show that embodies the breadth of creativity and connectivity in our university and community.”

Tickets for the event are priced at $5 for Marshall students; $15 for seniors age 60 and older as well as Marshall employees; and $22 for general admission. The box office opens at 1 p.m. on March 23 for ticket sales, with tickets also available through Ticketmaster.com.
